How to print receipts using inkjet printer
Posted Date Unknown KTS Support KTS Support 2 Comments

Good day!  I'm from the Philippines. I downloaded the other day the trial version of the Video Manager+ and I'm delighted by the user-friendliness of the software.  It's simple, very much effective and right to the budget.  I've been browsing the net for sometime now looking for the right video rental software that will suite my needs and when I came across your product I immediately downloaded it and gave it a try.

But there's one thing that worry me most.  I'm using hpdeskjet ink advantage 2060 printer.  When I print a receipt it occupies the whole width of the paper.  Is there a way to somehow compress the print out to about 1/4 of the width of the paper?

Thanks guys!  I'll appreciate the time you will spent on my email.  More power and looking forward doing business with you.

Hello Roderick,

Thank you for getting back to us. If I am not mistaken you are using a printer that can be printed in full in the paper. If you want to print receipts , you need to use a receipt printer that is available in the market. There are different types of receipt printer that is available in the market. The most popular is Dot matrix printer. There also different other types receipt printers like thermal die printer (That you see in ATM etc).

You can still use your Inkjet printer for taking recepts. But that will cost you more money in terms of paper in the long run. Also another possibility is you can set the paper size from A4 to smaller paper size and put the paper in the tray accordingly so that it will print correctly per paper size.

 Hope this Helps

Here some more discussion through e mail which might help some other customer too..

There is an option in the bill in the default settings footer text that will say “thank you visit again”. You can change the text to reflect it like , the customer should return it within X days etc.

Also there is an option to send reminder mails to customers if needed form one of the menus.

Or you can manually write the due date in the bill.

 Hope this helps..

Thank you very much.  I changed the default paper size into 4x6 card and it worked.  I'll just have to cut the whole paper into 4 equal parts and I'll have a receipt. Thanks for your suggestions.  I guess I have buy the right printer in some other time. In the meantime I'll do with what I have.

One more concern I forgot to mention. Is it possible to include the due date in the receipt?  Customers will ask for the due date and it's nowhere to be found in the receipt.

 Thanks guys!  More power!
